Bangiya Mussalman Sahitya Patrika a Bangla literary quarterly was the mouthpiece of the Bangiya Mussalman Sahitya Samiti, established on 4 September 1911 in calcutta. At an executive committee meeting held on 24 February 1918, it was decided to publish a journal which would serve as the mouthpiece of the society. Accordingly, a six-member committee was formed to run the journal. The committee included kazi imdadul huq as president, muhammad shahidullah and mohammad mozammel huq as secretary, and muhammad reazuddin ahmad, Moinuddin Hossain and muzaffar ahmed as members. The Bangiya Musssalman Sahitya Patrika started publication from April 1918 (Baishakh, 1325 BS) from 47/2 Mirzapur Street, Calcutta. The initial print run was 1000. The journal consisted of eighty pages, priced at six annas. After Muhammad Shahidullah joined the university of dhaka in June 1921, Mohammad Mozammel Huq edited the journal alone. The journal continued publication for another two years. Its last issue was that of Kartik 1330 BS (April 1923).

Bangiya Mussalman Sahity Samiti and its journal mainly aimed at developing Bengali Muslim society. Therefore, it published only serious essays. Its contributors included several renowned figures of the period: Kazi Nazrul Islam, Muhammad Shahidullah, Mohammad Yakub Ali Chowdhury, Syed Emdad Ali, Dr Lutfar Rahman, Mohammad Akram Khan, Sheikh Fazlul Karim, Golam Mostafa, Kazi Abdul Wadud, Abdul Karim Sahityavisharad, Muhammad Wajed Ali, Mohammad Barkatullah, Abul Kalam Shamsuddin, Kazi Imdadul Huq, Abul Hussain. Though the society and its journal catered to Muslim readers, some well-known non-Muslim writers such as Kalidas Roy, Kumud Ranjan Mallik and Shailajananda Mukhopadhyay also contributed to the journal.
